Awesome Jazz Singer Rene Marie was asked to sing the American National at Denver, Colorado's annual State of the City Address.
Instead, Marie opted for pride over patriotism and sang the lyrics of the Black National Anthem, "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," to the melody of the American National Anthem.
Singer Marie is unapologetic, saying she wanted to express how she felt as a Black Woman.
She is Simply Fantastic!!
