Merville Battery Museum Normandy France WWII D-Day Length: 2:10
Description: Historical site and museum at the Merville Battery in Normandy France. This was the site of a major battle as a vastly undermanned unit of British paras attacked the battery to take it out of commission during the D-Day invasion. Otherwise the large guns would have pummelled the British landing at Sword Beach not far away. Protected on the flank by Canadian paras, the British heroically succeeded in overcoming the German troops. This video shows the site and some of the museum displays. Shot on HD in 2006.
