Former CNJ Ferry Slips @ Libery State Park Length: 1:36
Description: The former CNJ's Jersey City Terminal in Jersey City, NJ Now part of Liberty State Park since the late 1970's.. Taken just before my camera batteries died LOL.
The terminal abandoned on 4/30/1967 laid in ruins for years until the state incorparated it into the park. Once over the ferry slips was a vast ferry terminal building that was attached to the head house of the terminal. Though it was to be saved when the terminal was perserved, it was raized in 1981 or 82 even though a brand new roof was put on it. One wonders where all the copper sheathing went that once covered the building?
In the short video is also Lower Manhattan without the World trade Center. Just doesn't look right.
And also in it is New Jersey's tallest building, the Goldman-Sachs building on the grounds of the former Colgate Complex down by Essex Steet in Jersey City.
Not a video to win awards, just for memories of once was the mighty CNJ. The Big Little Railroad.
