Once again I apologize for the POOR video quality. This crew change bunk house is where we stayed for the night on the way up to Fort Nelson out in the middle of nowhere, and yes...this is me on top of the Sperry car with a couple bears poking around nearby. My official reason for being on roof is for the vantage.... more

This is between Smith Falls and Monkland Ontario, west of Montreal during the ice storm in January 1998. This line was shut down for two weeks during this ordeal. We became maintenance of way for a couple days only because we were the only vehicle in that local area with access for inspection of the mainline. We did.... more

Time to get back to the mainland. Wish I had Recorded more here on Vancouver Island. It was such a fun place! My friends on Vancouver Island will have to identify the specifics of the yard and dock location for the ferry. Onto the ferry for a 3 hour tour back towards Vancouver. Upcoming SRS #19 has a very.... more

Continuation from SRS #2, going down a 2% grade I believe. Mountain on one side, air on the other.

This is in Mission BC. My first weekend off, or Sunday rather, and not much to do in the morning until stores open. The chief operator lives elsewhere and the operator is out doing laundry or something. You could imagine the excitement being in a new place every day and always on railroad property, for train buffs.... more

Well, apparently, if we were about 15 minutes earlier at this location, I would have had some action footage of this van performing a "Dukes Of Hazard" jump from the highway over the tracks and down to the water. Just out of view to the right about 15' down the embankment is a little beach type area that.... more

Arriving in North Vancouver, after going through the yard, we get a brief tour of the 2860 and the 3716 at the shops. Again, I apologize for crapy video.....I should break out the digital 8 bnsf stuff again.

SRS #16

You could imagine ten hours a day or so, at this testing speed of 7-13 miles per hour, being a very long day. Most of the time it was. Testing towards Courtenay, we have to stop and head back about 4 or 5 miles to get in the clear for the passengers, and then behind them, run light back to where we left off. At the.... more
