Mehter (Ottoman Janissary Band) at the Military Museum in Istanbul, Turkey, April 3, 2008. The Mehter is the oldest military band in the world.

We visited the Topaki Palace in Istanbul and suddenly heard loud music. We later learned that the people in costume were reenacting the Ottoman military band.
