The first 1 minute of a promotional film made in 1970 about my home town of Margate. How things change. 2 million vistors in 1970, the town is economically screwed now and has one of the highest rates of unemployment, teenage pregnancy and drug abuse in the country. Oh dear.

After our stay in Cambridgeshire, we motored on to the seaside resort village of Margate in Kent to spend a few days with more friends. We had a grand time and used their home as a base for additional sight-seeing, including Canterbury, Leeds Castle and the Spitfire museum in Ramsgate. Here is a look at the sea and the street life of the Margate area.
