Three temples of Ancient Egypt claimed supremacy over all the athers: The temple of Ptah at Memphis os the Re-Atum at Heliopolis and the temple of Amon -Re at Karnak.

The temple complex is huge because each pharoah added on to the complex. Hatshepsut Obelisk was cut down so it now lies horizontally.
