As children, we Southerners grew up saying "Ma'am" and "Sir" and each school day began with the Pledge of Allegiance and God Bless America. We prayed as a class each day at lunch time and we prayed at Friday night football games. As Southroners we were also taught to love our homeland. Times were good; really good.

I was at the Cubs game today doing work related to the Chicago 2016 Olympic Committee. These guys were there playing some beautiful Dixieland, which made me happy and sad at the same time. My late Uncle Jim Snyder was widely regarded as the best Dixieland trombonist in the world, and he was a very sweet man. His sons and all the rest of his family miss him very much.

I came across this band playing dixieland type music during the 32nd Nihombashi / Kyobashi Tokyo Eco Parade. (October 2004) There are marathon runners passing in from of them while they performed.
