Every Sunday during season, some small towns in Mexico hold their own modest versions of big city bullfights, in which amateurs use serapes or small rugs as capes and face fierce young bulls or calves. Everyone has a ball. These pictures were shot in Ajijic, on Lake Chapala, and show the fun had by all.

Another small town bullfight in the same Ajijic arena, but this time with kids playing in the sand before the matches, imitating their elders. Like the grown-ups, they have a ball. Then the big guys come on for their moment in the sun. These pictures were shot in Ajijic, on Lake Chapala.
