Tammy and I were fascinated by these armies of leaf-cutter ants. There were at least 20 mounds in this one area of forest and a steady stream of ants filed in and out of each mound. Our guide Derin stomped his feet on the ground to summon the appearance of the "Warrior" ants which were the largest ants i had ever seen.

Some ants I found attacking a termite nest in Mbakaou, Cameroon. The termites (white) fought back, but weren't much of a match for the larger ants. The sounds in the background are made by the ants.
