VE (Victory in Europe) Day (or WWII Armistice Day as the French celebrate it), May 2007 saw us in Paris and no memorial was more grand than at the "Tomb of the Unknown French Soldier" at the base of the Arc de Triomphe. Later we crossed under the street and climbed (!) the 130 steps, I believe, to the top of the Arc. Beautiful day and beautiful views!
