The Arundel Castle was "remodeled" and expanded around 1300AD, and the initial castle built around 1100AD . . . it's always interesting to me how castles were often times remodeled WELL before.... more

A recent visit to the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum in Singleton, West Sussex., with my granddad (who can been seen in some of the pics!). The museum rescues old buildings from bygone eras and reconstructs them onsite, giving a flavour of what life was like for our ancestors. Most of the buildings are from.... more

Taken at London Victoria, this sees the 'Sussex Slammer' railtour departing at night. It wasn't long after this that slam-door workings ceased altogether in the region - 19th November 2006.
