12 January 2005: morning trains in and out of Newcastle station, including Intercity electric sets, two-car electric sets shuttling to and from Morisset, Endeavour railcars and the since retired 620/720 railcars running to and from Hunter Valley destinations.

12 January 2005: we ride between Civic and Newcastle in one of the now-scrapped Hunter Valley railcars from Telarah: 625/725. The line the NSW state government wanted to close. Local agitation and support for the railway have so far kept it open. Some railways are being built in the state capital, but in the regions.... more
