My friend wanted to head over to St. Denis for a little while this day to see if we could catch a couple freights, and in doing so we stayed about and hour and caught 3 CSX freights. Here we see CSX Q-398 running EB on the Old Main Line heading toward Baltimore. Ex. Conrail SD60M 8778 leads with Ex. Conrail SD60I 8730.... more

CSX Q-398 is seen slowly moving through St. Denis EB on the Old Main Line heading into Baltimore with SD70MAC 4708 leading CW44AC 298. No horn from the engineer but he did wave which is pretty much out of view in this shot.

CSX E-711 is heading WB out of Baltimore, crankin' on the Old Main Line, with CW44AC 585 leading SD70MAC 4751 with a long string of empty hoppers in tow. 585's K5LA sounded pretty good. As the end of E-711 cleared, CSX Q-398 rounds the bend heading EB toward Baltimore with C40-8 7519 leading SD40-2 8362. I had to.... more

Here we see CSX empty coal E-725 working up the grade WB out of Baltimore crossing over from 3 track to 1 Track. CW44AC 131 leads with CW60AC 685 trailing. 131 had a good sounding K5LA. CSX Q-398 is also seen coming around the curve headed EB toward Baltimore with C40-8 7511 up front and CW40-8 7878 trailing. Right.... more

NS 398 with NS 7538, NS 9585, and NS 9258 pass northbound passing NS 35N and 33Q. NS 33Q will now proceed southbound along with 35N once 398 clears.

NS 398 with NS 9940, NS/LMS 8460, NS 7512, NS 6647, NS 9598, and NS 5057 pass northbound and follow NS D27 long hood forward NS 4624 to Midway to meet a southbound. NS 32Q is leaving St. Louis now.

CSX Q-398 is slowly headed EB toward Baltimore on the Old Main Line with ES44DC 5200 leading CW44AC 339. The only slightly interesting element about 5200 was that it was one of the first ES44DCs delivered to CSX. Also Q-702 finally receives a fresh crew to relieve the current crew who held the train down for several hours.

NS 398 with NS 9613, NS 5548, and NS 8773 blast northbound pass NS I1T at Karnes going to Decatur meeting some at Midway also. NS I1T will now get the signal out of the pass to St. Louis.
